A Passion for Pin Cushions!

I   L O V E   Pin cushions!! I have made a few for myself and my sweet friends have made them for me too, so I would like to show you some. I will add more over time.  I made this little tomato pin cushion using cross stitch themed fabric by Black Bird Designs.  And I made a fussy cut covered button with my initial for the bottom.
This is a cross stitch strawberry I made into a pin cushion with strawberry fabrics and rick rack

I love this one, I got the pattern from a fairly recent quilt magazine.  It was really fun to make.

My best bud, Darlene, made this sweet little basket pin cushion with french knots for the flowers, I adore it!
This is a design by my friend Anita, from Anita's Little Stitches, http://www.anitalittlestitches.com/   I loved making this and the beads just make it pop.
This cutie is from the book, The Civil War Sewing Circle by Kathleen Tracy. It was so fun and easy to make.  I love the ticking pillow part. lol
I believe this came from The Gift of Stitching online cross stitch mag.  I did it was a stitch a long with my sweet friend Janet.
This is a Fig Tree pattern.  I love pumpkins and this is one of my favs that I have made.
Another pumpkin, yay!  I made one of these for my a friend too, it is a freebie from this blog, http://gazette94.blogspot.com/search/label/HALLOWEEN%2F%20AUTOMNE  Lots of good free cross stitch charts on there.
This is from Black Bird Designs book Stitcher's Journey.  This pin cushion is very special to me because I added buttons, lace and pins from my great aunt Gennie who was a professional seamstress.  They are very old and precious to me.

Cornucopia Cross Stitch

Acorn Pin Cushion

This was a bday gift for Janet. It was a lot of fun to make.

Kitty Pin Cushion

This was a gift to Janet.

Cross Stitch Sampler Fabric Tote

Janet bought this neat cross stitch sampler fabric and asked me to make her a tote, and waalaa. Here is it. Plus I had enought fabric left I made a little zippered tote to match it.

Tiny Stocking ornament

Another gift for my friend Janet.  It was an internet freebie chart.

Black Birds Designs birthday pillow

I made this one for one of my friend Janet's birthdays.  I discovered how easy it is to make covered buttons.

Sweet little baby dolls

I made these from an old pattern I have that I don't think they even make anymore.  The pattern is so worn I had to make a new pattern from the old one. LOL  They have a little button for the pacifier and are just as cute as can be.  I made these for my good friends Darlene and Janet.  They seem to get most of the things I make. lol

Quilted Tote with Cross Stitched Rose embellishment

I took this with my cellphone, so the pic isn't very good.  I really enjoyed making this, I love pinwheels and prairie points,  It is prettier in person.  I dragged it back and forth with me while going to MD Anderson Cancer Center with my friend who was being treated for breast cancer. It sure came in handy, it holds a lot.

Churn Dash Tote

I made this Churn Dash tote for my good friend Darlene, we have been best friends for over 42 years now!  I didn't really care for the Churn Dash block until I made this for her and now I am liking it more and more. Funny how my tastes in quilt styles and fabrics keep changing.

Cup Cake Pin Cushions

I LOVE pin cushions, and I made a bunch of these a couple of years ago to sell at a craft show.  I loved making them.

Babushka/Matryoshka keychain

I made this for my sweet mama. It is a fhttp://korsstygnsarkivet.blogspot.com/2011/02/varfina-matrjosjkor-korsstygnsmonster.htmlreebie from this site.

My Stitching Buddy

We have new member to the family, Neville, and he likes to help me stitch. lol   Now that he as figured out how to get up on my cutting table, I have to shut the door to my sewing room while I use my rotary cutter lol

Too many Saturday Sampler quilt blocks.

I have gotten my self in deep here, lol, I am now attending 3 block of the month/saturday samplers.   I will post pics of my blocks as a finish them.

Food for thought

I saw these cute cup cakes at Target the other day and did a double take, lol, they look just like little hamburgers.  Too cute!

And I took this pic of some weird shaped grapes a while back,  It was shaped just like a little pumpkin. lol
This is the back of the Sister Stitcher pin cushion.  I used fabric by Black Bird Designs and channile trim that Janet had given me.

I am new to the blogging world, but have enjoyed reading blogs for awhile, so I thought I would give it a try. It looks fun! I will try to share my love of sewing, quilting and needlework, such as cross stitch here. Thanks for taking a look
