For The Love of Ducks :)

My great niece who is just 13 months old LOVES duck lol.  She has a blast feeding bread to them with her grandparents.  So I just couldn't pass up this duck fleece and fabric at Hobby Lobby.

I have to admit, that premade satin binding was a big PAIN to work with lol.  But I love how the edges feel with it on them.

I had some duck fabric left over, so I thought she could use a little quilted bag of her own to carry around. :)

Birthday Quilt

I made a quilt for my best friend's birthday, and I am sooo pleased how it turned out, she was too, she cried when I gave it to her. :)

I used the High Street, by Lily Ashbury for Moda layer cake and some extra yardage for border and binding.  I used this Missouri Star Quilt Co's Big Star Quilt tutorial,  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tkm3nCferp4

It had 3 more star blocks I could have added and made it longer, but that was too much for me to quilt on my Singer 201.  It turned out almost 100 inches square when I added the border.

New Tote :)

I made another jelly roll tote, this one for myself for carrying quilting supplies to retreats.  I love how it turned out, and how roomy it is, I followed Missouri Star Quilt Company's Big Bag Tutorial,   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H15z26_HiJY

and I added a zipper using this tutorial  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H15z26_HiJY

I also added inner pockets. It is quite a large bag.

Monster Trucks!!

I had a lot of fun making this easy Monster Truck Mania quilt for a soon to be born sweet boy.  It was simply a panel with borders, binding and backing from the same line added.  The line is super cute too.  It is by Desiree's Designs for Quilting Treasures.

I had left over fabric from it so I found this tutorial for a travel diaper changing pad and decided to give it a try https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_ErCuDlIjc   It was much easier than I expected and I like how it turned out.  If I make another, I will use a fluffier batting to make it more cushy.

Fat Quarter Shop's 2014 Designer Mystery Block-1

Yes, yes I know, I still haven't finished the 2013 Designer Mystery Blocks, BUT I just had to make this one when it came in the mail, it is sooo pretty!  The only part that was tricky for me was matching up the seams for the inner star points.  Had to do some seam ripping a few times, but that is nothing new for me lol.

Hexagon Pin Cushion

I made a hexagon pin cushion using this tutorial http://www.victorianaquiltdesigns.com/VictorianaQuilters/Handwork/HexiePincushionTutorial.htm        It was fun and pretty quick.  I used some charm squares from a Bonnie and Camille/Thimble Blossoms called Bliss charm pack.

10 Minute Block Variation Quilt

This is from the 10 Minute Block book.  I used a Roman Holiday by 3 Sisters jelly roll and extra yardage for borders.  It was so fun, I can't wait to make another. :)

A Basket of Flowers

I cross stitched a little basket with french knot flowers for my friend Janet's birthday.
I put it in this cute little bike from Joann's Fabrics.
I just love how it turned out, she did too. :)

Found another use for my cone thread holder :)

I hooked the little hole on the side of the base of the cone thread holder onto the spool spindle on the front of my Singer 201-2 and it worked beautifully for feeding the binding while I sewed it onto the quilt. :)

Pam Kitty Quilt

This is Kitty Belles using Pam Kitty Morning fabrics from LakeHouse Dry Goods.  This quilt pattern is in the April/May 2012 issue of McCall's Quick Quilts.   I made it for my sweet friend Betsy's birthday, I think she really liked it.  I used pink flannel for the backing, which was a lot more challenging to quilt, simply because it was heavier to move around that what I normally use. It will make a nice warm quilt for her though.

  1.
